There’s a series on the Sci-Fi channel called Ghost Hunters. All those involved in this program are already convinced that ghosts exist, and are simply trying to prove this fact to everyone else. They run around dark hallways and generaly creepy places using night vision, which adds to the creepiness. Apparently ghosts are afraid of the light, or they just don’t want to be seen. Not sure why they would care. Shh.. did you here that? I saw something over there. Cold spot cold spot right here yes yes I feel it. Completely oblivious to the fact that no one watching the program saw or felt anything. They all look quite foolish to me but the show gets excellent ratings so a lot of people must believe in ghosts. Or they watch it because they think it’s funny like me.

I have never had a ghost sighting myself however I was on a camping trip as a teenager once and a girl that was there suddenly pointed over my shoulder and screamed. When I turned around I could have sworn I saw a large shadowy figure standing behind me. I was very startled for a moment then came to my senses and realized there was nothing there. The girl said she thought she saw a big spider repelling down behind me and she was deftly afraid of spiders. And no, this was early teens and long before any of us starting experimenting with various chemicals but it was still evidence of a shared hallucination. If she would have screamed “spider” then I would have known what to hallucinate but with no description my mind manifested “ The Shadow”.

Firm evidence that anything of a spiritual nature is non-existent, or at least open to interpretation. I think the reason these shows are so popular is because a lot of people are searching for that solid evidence and they hope they will see it there on the Sci-Fi channel. If ghost exist then there is at least something beyond death. I know that if there was proof that we had a soul it would sure make my own search for faith easier.

The only strong evidence I have seen that consciousness exist outside our own heads is the apparent discovery that human thought can affect random event generators. (REG)’s.
The global Consciousness Project. Well it’s a start.

That show cracks me up too Stubby. I don't believe in ghosts but I do believe people can work themselves up into seeing things. For instance, if you stare in to a dark hallway at night you can "see things moving".

When I was a kid we used to have seances. We would all whip each other up into a frenzy and be convinced we heard and saw things. People can also attribute feelings of cold, chills or whatever to 'spirits'.

I love ghost stories but have yet to be convinced of any really hauntings.

I would love to see a ghost or some other undeniable paranormal activity. I'm not talking a cold spot or a door creaking I’m talking a crap your pants Spielberg poltergeist. Everybody longs for something to happen that completely changes his or her perspective on the world. Even more so something that changes everyone perspective all together.

The discovery of extraterrestrial life would be another such event. Not so much fossilized bacteria but a NASA briefing saying that the probe they sent to the under the ice oceans of Europe has been eaten.

You just reminded me to get back to reading my Dan Brown book.

I hear ya. The poltergeist thing would certainly change my perspective!

The first time I have seen a ghost, I was startled, but yes they do exist. I was living on an old grave site, and couldn't understand why I was seeing a ghost of a little girl? Apparently , my house was built over a grave site from the "Halifax Explosion".
I seen a ghost of a little girl that was dressed in clothing dating back to the early part of the century.

The funny thing was she had no face. I could see a bonnet, a frilly white dress and she seemed like
she was about 5-8 years old, by her height. She was walking out of my son's room. I became startled
and was shocked by what I was seeing. At first I was scared, but then I became more concerned as of
why the little ghost was walking out of my son's bedroom?

I never seen her again after that night, but I started to do some research at the city archives and found out there use to be a grave yard
where they built the row of houses. How can there "use to be" a grave yard? They built all the homes directly over the site. I later found out that the grave yard buried most of their victims of the Halifax Explosion there.

Just like in the movie Poltergeist. “YOU ONLY MOVED THE HEADSTONES”!

Well your certainly not alone many people claim to have seen a ghost. I also know from my own experience that your mind can play tricks on you so no disrespect intended, I’m sure you saw something but you could never prove to me what you saw was a ghost.
